Coffee date at Homebrew Cafe.

As I said, festival brings holidays and holidays equal to gathering.
So happy that I am able to meet all my beloved within one day.

It has been 2 weeks plus since me and my roommate last met because both of us practicum in different school.
Owh, I miss her so much!
We always said that we would like to hangout and have some high tea session in Muar but we never carry out our promise until today.
This is our third time having our only-roommates bonding time outside our hostel, the second time hangout in Muar and the first time she visited my house.
Promise more to come yea!!
Always feeling thankful for having my roommate as my roommate. She plays her role as my audience well. She is very trustful so I can always complain my everything and share my every happiness with her.
Proud to say we never ever get into quarrel after 4 years staying in the same room.
05-221 to 05-128, no matter where the room is, it is good to have the same best roomie!
:)
Han Yin and I in the car.

We would like to try dessert in 1988 but unfortunately it was closed today.
So we went to another cafe which I never try before.
Homebrew Cafe.

I like the environment and the ambiance inside.
Very relaxing and I think it will be a good place to do assignment here.
With a cup of coffee, such enjoyment.
But I think it is not really a place for reading as it is quite dark inside. I dunno is it because of the rainy day today.
Mineral water in glass bottle. So vintage.

Always like to try something new.
Ice cube coffee RM10.
The ice cube is made of very pure coffee. It is so bitter.
I add a lot of milk to balance the taste. Not a bad try somehow.

Han Yin ordered this.
Green tea latte RM8
It is smooth. Green tea is always love!
Insta with le roommate.
We felt like we haven't finish report all the recent happenings to each other yet!
We are the talkative one. :P

Not to forget, I met with Joey, Fiona and her bf there too.
Say hello to the new friend Kuan Ming!!
Congrats darling, You deserve a good one!

Meet the BFF.
 Us.

I miss my Malay friends.

Always love my country and proud to be a Malaysian.
There is always a reason for you to learn one more language, to understand one more culture and to have more holidays.
Holidays mean more gatherings to come.

Some of my friends dislike other races and their language.
They criticize them. They boycott them.
I am totally different.
I like every races in my country and I like to mix with them so that I could learn more about their culture and their life. Not only those races in my own country, I would like to know angmoh, Korea people, Japan people and others too.
I understand that some races are having some behaviors that might annoy us, but try to think about ourselves, you dare to say Chinese people is perfect and not annoying at all??
We must admit that we got our dark side too.

Whatever it is, I like to friend with Malays.
They're kind and pure.
I am not saying 100% of them are nice, but I am glad that those I met are kind enough.
I could actually mix very well with Malays.
I mixed well with them when I were in secondary school and in matrics.
I can still recall my Malay roommates brought me fruits from her kampung and lent my money when my purse was stolen vividly. I remember my friends greeted me 'zao an, lao shi' every morning they met me.
They respect me and protect me like we are one family. They called me 'adik'.
None of my Chinese friends treat me like that especially those I met in maktab. Everybody is selfish and very self-centered.
Sometimes, I felt really sad 'coz I got no Malay friends in maktab nowadays since I am in Chinese class and none of my classmates is Malay.
I seldom speak Malay and I can't speak fluent Malay now.
I miss those time I gurau with my Malay friends, learning bad bad language.
I miss those moments I teach them Mandarin and laugh at their weird yet cute pronunciation.

The first day of Raya, I visit my secondary school Malay friend, Heidzir.
Though he transferred to Highschool after Form 3, we still keep in touch.
This is my second time visiting him during Raya festival. Glad that we still keep in touch. :)
He used to be very tiny during our secondary, but now, look at his muscle!! O.o
Jianyi and Heidzir.

I hope I can make friends with more Malays and other races.
I hope I could still keep in touch with all my Malay friends, those I knew in secondary school and KMPP. Really miss each of them very very much.
Selamat Hari Raya! Maaf Zahir dan Batin.

Practicum 2.0 School camp

13 July is the official date I started my second practicum, but it seemed like I get it started 2 days earlier than my batch mates.
It was because I was joining the school camping in Oasis Bay. Though I'm a Muarian, shame to admit that this was actually my first time visiting this place.

Yay to a cloudy day.
The Mural
The Basin
The flower in the plastic bottle.
Always LOVE photo like this. My camera could rarely took this typo snap. Thank you it did!
With my most most beloved primary school teacher. :)
She is now the GPK in the school I practicum in. Felt kinda secured when I found her around.
With le Mural.
Oasis Bay is filled with kampong style which gave us the ambiance of relaxing.
Oppa kampong style XD
And I think this was my first time seeing a mangosteen tree and petik the fresh mangosteen from the tree.

The gadget
All ready for the campfire.
Tissue paper with wax to be lighted in the campfire.
The camp site.
But the students only given the chance to learn to set up the camp, they were actually sleeping in the dorm.
One of the activity requested students to think of their own slogan and draw an animal that symbolize their group.
There was another activity requested the students to cook their own lunch using only eggs, luncheon meat, tuna and tomato beans.

Food from some groups.
Performed the songs that they learnt in the afternoon.
Those lovely songs made me recall my memories in primary school either.
I really enjoy the activities planned by the school for the kids.
This varies their childhood memories and deepens the friendship among themselves. How nice it would be if I were given a chance to join such meaningful activity when I was a primary school kid too.
I felt bad not able to participate the activities on the next day as I get badly diarrhea.
Thanks God I am considered fully recovered now and so I blog.

A visit to Old Folks Home

Throwback post.
First of all, Thanks to Yee Ching and Cheng Yee for the photos below.
Due to the needs of Moral assignment, we were planning for a simple visit to the Old Folks Home which is just next to our college.
This wasn't actually the first time for me visiting a old folks home.
I accompanied my aunts and grandpa to old folks home for donation when I was very small.
But I couldn't recall how was it since I was too small.
So, before the trip, let us let the selca first.
Yee Ching, me and Ker Sing
We were waiting under this crazy sun before walking to the old folks home.
You ain't get wrong! We WALKED to the old folks home.
YES! Under this crazy HAWT SUN ><#
 Old Folks Home

We then gathered at the front of the old folks home, waiting for some briefing about what we should do there.
There were 9 old people staying in this old folks home so we were divided into 9 groups to have some more personal time to interact with them.

We got Auntie Julian!
She is English educated but she can speak fluent Mandarin.
She wasn't married and she didn't want to be a burden of her siblings. She is the third out of six. And so she decided to start her retired life here.
Anyway, her siblings and relatives visit her quite often and bring her out for good food.
Stand at the age of 62, she looked real young!
Her face looked very smooth and sparkling.
She shared a lot of her feelings to us. She taught us to appreciate everything that happened to us. She felt very thankful even when my friend gave her a pau and a cup of tea.
She never regret her choice to enter a old folks home, yet she cherished it and felt happy of her own decision.
But, I actually felt pity for her.
As you know, I got 3 aunts and they are about the same age with Auntie Julian. My aunts still lead a happy and independent and outgoing lifestyle. The most important thing is that they own their freedom. But not to Auntie Julian.
I admit that the old folks home is good. The volunteers there treat the old people good and kind. But the old folks here are not allowed to go out and spend a night outside. I think they only get to go out the compound when they are sick and wanna get the treatment at the clinic outside. Yes, they are safe but they have no freedom.
They can only do reading, sewing and sweeping the floor at their pastime.
Washing clothes seemed to be the only chores for the ladies here.
Staff did all the washing for men.
No cooking. No gardening.
Safe but no freedom.
Relaxing but boring.
I may not want to get marriage unless I get a really charm prince. But I swear I will never want to spend my old days in an old folks home. I want to use up all my money travelling and do everything I like.
A group photo with Auntie Julian.
Performing for the old folks.
I mustered all my courage to sing 红蜻蜓 in front everybody too! Can't believe I did it. I was shy of course but I just want to realise my promise to Auntie Julian. This is a song she wanted to listen and I promised we would sing for her. So, ya I did it! :)
Shook hands with every old people before we back.
They wished me all the best in our future. Thank you. :)
We then did some cleaning in the old folks home.
 Group photo. *Spot me! :P*
Thanks for the trip.
At first I felt nothing. But at last I felt heavy-hearted especially after I saw one of them crying and I felt they were trapped there.
God bless them have a healthy body and wealthy mind.

Getaway in Malacca

Very random decision and I was going to Malacca again.
I think this was going to be the last enjoyment before I get myself super busy in the second practicum next week. I always feel like having holidays whenever I am with this girl. 'Coz I can forget all the worries that happened in college and acted like a little bubbly sister.
Thank you Darling for always accompanying me to visit places and having good food. :)

This post is absolutely a photo spam post as I am doing the documentary job in recording my daily life.
Plus both of us felt embarrass to post every single photo in other social network, thus I think blogspot is the most suitable place. You like it you scroll down, you don't like you click the exit button.
Let's the photos tell...

Tourists shot of us in the Jonker Walk.
For the very first time I strolled in Jonker under this merciless crazy sun.
It's SUMMER in Malaysia!!
We had ourselves a Cendol in Jonker 88.
Felt like trying their famous laksa but my stomach not allowed me to do so. I was way too full. Promise to have it next time.

Fiona's Durian Cendol.
Both of us think it was too Durian-ish and sweet which we don't really like.
I like the original taste of the Malacca sugar. So I think my Sago Cendol tasted better. =P

Have some window shopping in Jonker.

Waited Fiona's to change her braces before we continued to explore Malacca.
This was my first time having this very famous Klebang Coconut Milkshake!
I was overwhelmed with excitement when I first tasted it since it is very highly recommended by people.
It is really nice and refreshing.
I want to have it again!

Happy girls were happy :D

Picked up Joey mei mei in MMU and we headed to Sizzling Stone in Jusco to have our dinner.
This was my second time having sizzling stone.
Yum yum.

Mei mei and I

Good meal called a day.
I hope I could visit Malacca again soon, maybe with Fiona again? Min babe or my Maktab-ians ?
Thanks for reading and enjoy your day.
:)
