Practicum 2.0 Cultural camp

Hello boys and girls, welcome reading!
I am going to blog about the second camp I participated during my second practicum. The camp was held last week but I am totally busy the past few days due to the assignment and lesson plan, so sorry for the late update. I hope I could blog every happenings in school, write down my feelings in school, but I just got no time!
I spent all my time for my working, sleeping and eating. Serious. No entertainment no life.
But life is really contented. My 24 hours are fully used beneficially.

Talk about the cultural camp.
It was titled as ‘我的文化,你懂吗?’ (My culture, You know?)
It gave chances for the kids to learn about Malaysian' culture within 2 days 1 night. They learnt from group activities, songs and games. 2 days 1 night is definitely not enough because there is a lot more like Malay dance, Chinese calligraphy and etc not being touched. But I think this is only a beginning. It made the kids to be interested in 'culture of different races' and perhaps after this camp, these kids would explore more and deeper about 'Culture'.

First of all, the Indian cultured was introduced for the kids.
They tried Teeka (the red marks on the forehead).
This is one of the cute boy from my class. He is really sweet and warm.

They tried Kolam. I never try this before!! What they made really impressed me!

In the afternoon, they were exposed to some Malay cultures.
I was in charge in the Congkak station.
I bet this camp is successful because yesterday one of my girl asked me to bring Congkak for them during their PJ. They taught their friends and they were really enjoying the game.

And one day, during the Music lesson, my 3B students asked me to give them the chance to sing the Malay song they learnt in the camp. 'Chan mali Chan, Chan mali Chan.......' They loved Malay song even more than the Chinese song they learnt. Truly local Malaysian huh! :D

Ketupat making.
Personally think that it is kinda hard for kids to make the ketupat because their palms are small and difficult to hold the ribbons well. So most of them not able to make one.
Wearing sarong experience.
Another cute boy from my class. He is kinda active in class. He has no front teeth now. XD
Drawing batik experience.

For the Chinese culture, they learnt how to use the chopstick. It is shameful for me to admit I can't use chopstick very well either. :(

They learnt how to make glutinous ball (Tang Yuan)
我承认我有私心,我都拍我班的小朋友。
But they are really cute!! They made 2 mixed colour balls at the beginning and they said one is for me, one is for the headmaster. And they ran towards the headmaster and showed him the balls they made with a very proud face.

With their beloved headmaster, Mr Ng.
The boys were really sweet. They get a bowl of Tang Yuan for me and 'forced' me to finish it.
One of them telling me Goodnight teacher before went to bed and asked me to rest well.
I must say I am really really touched!
I never know a simple action, some simple words can be so powerful.

The mothers in the school were really kind. They came to the school to lend their helping hand for almost every meal.
They made burgers for our breakfast.
The kids enjoyed their burger so much!
These are the girls from my 4B PJ and 3K BC class.
The girl at the right is one of my favourite girl in class. :P Most of the girls in my Chinese class are very shy and quiet, she is one of the 10% exception. She never pass up my books in the beginning but she turned over a new leaf now after I asked her to be the group leader to collect books. It is good to see her changes to a positive side. Keep it up girl! :)
There were lots of games after breakfast. The kids were very energetic. They never feel tired though they kept on running talking playing for a whole day.

Not forget to take a photo with my beloved teacher at the camp.

Happy time flies. It was time to say bye bye.
Hope there will be another time of camping like this and I will be able to join.
 我的文化,我懂了!
Success!
:)

Yupei Health Vegetarian Food

It had been a really long time since I last dine in Yupei Health Vegetarian Food.
It has now moved to a shop house at Taman Permai, which is the shop house opposite the field of Dato' school.
The atmosphere here is quiet and comfortable with the playing of Buddha songs.
It relaxes mind of the people who dine in here.
There are lots of organic food being sold here either.

I get super hungry after school.
I miss the cheese baked rice and the pita bread here!! But I ordered something else LOL
 Soup
 Pita bread
 Cheese baked curry rice.
This set only costed me RM5! It is quite a small set if you are a big eater. But it is considered full-filling for small eater like me. XD
I ordered this set for my uncle. :)
This set is for me! Sesame noodles and soup set for RM5.
It is really good. Very fresh and healthy. :P

A very very simple post about the vegetarian food I had taken yesterday.
Try it if you are a green eater in Muar town.
The food here is different from other vege food outside. It will never disappoint you.

Book wishlist

Just feel like typing.
I just found out there are people who tell book reviews in Youtube channel and they are called 'booktuber'.
I watched some booktubers' video few days ago and nearly every of us recommended these books.
I search for some synopsis in wikipedia but just simply browse through it, not really know what they're about to prevent spoiler.
I search through goodread and those books are all highly rated.
Since I have hunted down most of the books that I listed in the previous wishlist, I am now going to create a new one. However I had spent so much on books this year and my bookshelf are fully loaded with books, I guess I can only do my book shopping next year when I get my last time of BB1M. *Hopefully gov will still give us students the book voucher, they are precious!*

My updated book wishlist:

The Lunar Chronicles series by Marissa Meyer.
I heard this series is pretty good! I can't wait to own them. This series seemed interesting because as I know Cinder is loosely based on the classic fairytale Cinderella, Scarlet is based on Little Red Riding Hood and Cress is based on Rapunzel. There is one more book entitled Winter is based on the fairy tale of Snow White.

Another book I would like to own is Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell.
I haven't check the content out but I heard it is great too.

And the Mountains Echoed by Khaled Hosseini also one of the book I Must own!
I don't know why booktuber always recommend trilogies or science fiction. That's not really my style. I want to own this book not because of any recommendation, but it is because I had read A thousand splendid suns by the same author and it is awesome. I love his writing.

This is my book wishlist.
I actually download books pdf to read. It saves my spending but somehow the feeling is different when you hold the book, flip through it and read.
I promise myself to read more in the coming September holidays.
Too bad school get started tomorrow. I can't read much already.
What to do? Keep calm and be a cool teacher.
:)
